What are your published works, and what are you working on?
In the zombie genre, I currently have the AM13 Outbreak series, published by Limitless Publishing. That consists of Lockdown, Forgotten, and Extinct (in that order, although they can be read as standalone). The prequel to the series, detailing where the virus actually came from can be read in the 13 anthology too. I actually didn’t intend to write anymore in that series, but due to demand, I’m currently writing book number four!
If someone was just hearing about you for the first time what 1 thing would you want them to know?
I’d want them to know that my books definitely aren’t typical zombie novels. Some people love that the main characters aren’t necessarily badass and that they have flaws, others…not so much. I just wanted to create something that isn’t typical, so while there is gore, horror, and some kickass moments, there are some things the characters might do in a state of panic that might have you yelling at the books!
Did you always want to be a writer?
I always enjoyed reading, and I loved the idea of writing, but I didn’t actually get the confidence to try it until the idea for Lockdown came to me. It was a classic case of me writing the book that I wanted to read.
What has been the biggest adventure of your life?
Hmmm, that’s a tough one. I’ve been on many exciting adventures. For me it was probably when I went to Japan, but that’s mainly because I’ve always wanted to go there.
If zombie apocalypse were to happen tomorrow would you be prepared?
I would like to say yes, but no, definitely not. I have some ideas about what I’d do, but nothing solid, so chances are I’d freak out and get eaten very early on :(.
What 3 things do you feel everyone should have to be ready for a survival situation?
Water…always water! Antibiotics because they seem to help with pretty much anything (except for a zombie bite), and a plan. Shelter is very important so you always need to know where you’re going next.
Who would you want with you if civilized society fell apart?
Aside from my family, Glen Rhee, and Walter White (because why wouldn’t you?!)
What 2 books would be in your bug out bag, knowing you would have to read them over and over?
I’d want one of mine, just to remind me that I did actually do something awesome while the world was alright, and a really lighthearted chicklit. Escapism will be essential!
If we were thrown into the dark ages what would you miss most?
My laptop! My handwriting is terrible, so I don’t know how I’d survive without it.
What is the most surprising fact about you?
I think most people are surprised when I tell them I would suck at the zombie apocalypse…just because I write about it, doesn’t make me strong enough to survive it. Maybe it’s time to change that… 🙂
