Jessica Gomez #ReanimatedWriters Interviews

What are your published works, and what are you working on?

I have four books published. Two are part of my paranormal post-apocalyptic genre. The flash series, Infected & Immune. Two others are in a suspense romance genre, After the Before & Slipped Away. I’m currently working on book 3 in the Flash series, titled Evolved. I’m also working on a new Alpha male series, because… Why not!

If someone was just hearing about you for the first time what 1 thing would you want them to know?

I’m an easy-going person. I hope one day to meet my supporters at signings or some form of an event. I don’t want people to worry about coming to meet me. Reading and Writing are my passions. I’m sure we won’t have trouble with conversation.

Did you always want to be a writer?

As long as I can remember. In fifth grade, I wrote a story that depicted a monster attacking and killing campers in the woods. I titled the small book, IT. My teacher was so concerned that she called my parents for a meeting, stating that my writing was worrisome. My mom read Stephen King quite often, so she didn’t find anything wrong with this other than my teacher not supporting my creative talent. We left with my parents telling me that I created a good story and to never let others tell me what I can and cannot do. From then on, I wrote small stories, dabbled in poetry, and now am writing novels.

What has been the biggest adventure of your life?

This! Writing. It’s a HUGE step. Putting your work out there for thousands to critique, biting your tongue and hoping that someone, anyone will like it. I’ve found quite a few people enjoy my stories, but it doesn’t make it any easier. You have to work constantly to get your work and yourself out there. Especially being an Indie author, you do most of it yourself. Learning the ropes has been quite the challenge.

If zombie apocalypse were to happen tomorrow would you be prepared?

I’d like to believe we’re prepared. In reality, is anyone ready for an apocalypse, particularly a Zombie apocalypse? Probably not. No matter how much you prepare. There’s nothing that can prepare your mind for a massive event like that, we can only hope to survive, and try to lead whatever life there is left.

What 3 things do you feel everyone should have to be ready for a survival situation?

Easy… 1.) Adaptation- You have to be willing to bend yourself, adapt to your new surroundings and people. 2.) Food & Water- Having a bulk supply is definitely something you’ll require when searching for number 3. 3.) Shelter- Shelter is something you can do without for a short period of time, but long-term, you’re going to want to find a safe place, away from the chaos.

Who would you want with you if civilized society fell apart?

My kids, husband, and other family members. Of course, in a falling world, the likelihood that everyone will survive is slim to none.

What 2 books would be in your bug out bag, knowing you would have to read them over and over?

Jeez! Only two…

The first one I’d go with SE Hinton’s, The Outsiders. I LOVE this book. I’ve read it several times already. The second, I’d go with LA Casey’s, Dominic. I’ll require some hot male action.

If we were thrown into the dark ages what would you miss most?

The FOOD! I love pastas and desserts. If we were in the dark ages, most of this would probably disappear. That’s what I would definitely miss the most.

What is the most surprising fact about you?

As I said before, I’m pretty laid back. I don’t have a lot of hidden secrets. Lol But the weirdest thing I find that people get a kick out of, is that I’m scared of gnomes. I don’t like the little bastards. They’re always looking like they’re ready to attack, plotting against you at all times. I don’t trust them.
