What are your published works, and what are you working on?
I’ve had numerous horror short stories published, my first novel is a historical fiction (The Northern Queen), taking place in Anglo Saxon England. I returned to horror with my second novel, The Mortecarni (zombies during the Black Death in fourteenth century England). I’m currently working on the second part to The Mortecarni.
If someone was just hearing about you for the first time what 1 thing would you want them to know?
I don’t bite! Well, not always.
Did you always want to be a writer?
Since high school, yes. I used to write short horror stories in my English class for my best friend, who read them to her home room class the following day. Apparently I had quite a little following.
What has been the biggest adventure of your life?
Moving from Canada to England to live. It was only meant to be 4 years but I ended up staying for nearly 20!
If zombie apocalypse were to happen tomorrow would you be prepared?
Yes, always. I’ve lived near 3 cemeteries over the years, I’ve always had a zombie escape plan, just in case.
What 3 things do you feel everyone should have to be ready for a survival situation?
Water, weapons, warriors. A few close friends you can trust, a gun or knife, anything you feel comfortable with, and a source of water.
Who would you want with you if civilized society fell apart?
My husband. Not just because I married him but he’s an awesome shot with a rifle.
What 2 books would be in your bug out bag, knowing you would have to read them over and over?
The Complete Works of Chaucer, an SAS survival manual.
If we were thrown into the dark ages what would you miss most?
I’m type one diabetic so insulin! (hah!). But, that aside, probably Kraft Dinner!
What is the most surprising fact about you?
I fenced on the varsity team at my university. In fact, I met my husband while on the fencing team at the Natural History Museum in London, behind the insect gallery!
