What are your published works, and what are you working on?
I’ve published a Zombie Apocalypse series called Dangerous Days, with the first book in the series called Last Another Day. Although the series is complete, I’m considering carrying on due to demand from readers and there’s a box set in the works somewhere. I’ve also written the first three novelettes in a series of six called Death’s Children. This series centers around the antics and survival skills of teens and kids during the Zombie Apocalypse. I’m working on the last three now and must admit it is tons of fun. Last but not least, I’m working on a New Adult Dystopian Series called the Tides of Blood. The first two books are out, with the third, The Black Tide – Vanquish, coming out in the near future.
If someone was just hearing about you for the first time what 1 thing would you want them to know?
I write with both my heart and my soul. It’s there on the pages if you know where to look.
Did you always want to be a writer?
Always. I never had the confidence to pursue it, though, until recently. I always doubted my abilities, and this led to a late start in my writing career. It’s different now. I’ve found my feet and nothing short of an apocalypse could stop me writing now!
What has been the biggest adventure of your life?
Embarking on a full-time career as a writer has to qualify as the biggest adventure of my life. It’s both exciting as hell, and daunting at the same time. Not only am I now solely in charge of my working days and finances, but also my future. All while holding the trust of my readers in my palms. It’s stressful, exhausting, exhilarating, and amazing…all at the same time. Marriage comes a close second, of course, but even my hubby can’t compete with books!
If zombie apocalypse were to happen tomorrow would you be prepared?
Well…no. I’d be the first to die, running around with my unfit smoker’s lungs while trying to get my loved ones together and out of town. Plus, I don’t own a gun or a decent knife. Or even an ax. A crowbar, maybe? Shovel? I’d probably last at least a month on my extra winter weight, though. That’s a bonus, right?
What 3 things do you feel everyone should have to be ready for a survival situation?
A reliable vehicle with a full tank, a bugout bag containing the basics you need to live for a few days, and a weapon with enough ammunition.
Who would you want with you if civilized society fell apart?
My husband. He’s tough, reliable, and can do stuff. Plus, he’d probably sacrifice himself to save my life. That’s all I can say, lol!
What 2 books would be in your bug out bag, knowing you would have to read them over and over?
Mark Tufo’s first book in his Zombie Fallout series. Entertaining and useful. The second…a photo album. Not a book but I think it qualifies.
If we were thrown into the dark ages what would you miss most?
Pizza and shots. Shots the most.
What is the most surprising fact about you?
Me? Um…I’m a party animal. Yes, despite being a bookworm and introverted and married and old. (34 classifies as old, trust me.)
